They say men make life more beautiful. I say men make life sweeter. But like any dessert, the question is: are they worth the calories?
Because let's be honest, ladies - men are often like tiramisu. They look layered, sophisticated, supposedly they have depth... but in the end it all comes down to a ladyfinger soaked in past traumas. Or they're like macarons - too sweet, too expensive, and gone in a single bite.
And us? Like well-brought-up girls, we sit at the table of life believing dinner isn't complete without that final sweet bite. Even when we know it's going to give us emotional cavities.
The problem starts when we declare dessert the main course. When we treat men as if they were a source of protein instead of a sugary extra. When we put them in the middle of the plate, when they were actually meant to be on the side, with coffee, a little treat to brighten our day - not the meaning of life.
Because let's ask ourselves: do we really need a man to be complete? Or have we simply been taught that every dinner has to end with a cake, a pastry, or at least a scoop of ice cream called - him?
Maybe it's time to rewrite the menu. Let love be the main course, friendship the wine, career the starter, and self-confidence the seasoning that ties it all together. And men? Let them stay dessert. Lovely, desirable, but absolutely unnecessary for survival.
And as I nibbled the last bite of chocolate cake, I thought: if men are dessert, maybe it's time we stopped being girls who beg for something sweet - and became women who decide whether to order it at all.
